Welcome to our September 2024 issue of our Neighbourhood Update for CBS Secondary School, Kilkenny. Please take a moment to read this notice about the upcoming works in your locality.
Works since last neighbourhood update
Works include:
Section 7A (School and associated site works)
• Ongoing internal fitout
• Ongoing externals completion including external envelope and roof of the school.
• Site works ongoing
Section 7B (including East Dunningstown)
• CBS Access Road Tarmac Basecourse ongoing.
• Kerbing and Footpaths Ongoing
• Traffic Management for Section 2 Dunningstown Road Works (East) ongoing
• Dunningstown Road Works (East) including kerbing and footpaths have progressed
• Installation of below ground services adjacent to Dunningstown Road (East) ongoing
Section 7C (including West Dunningstown)
• Traffic Management for Section 2 Dunningstown Road Works (West) ongoing.
• Installation of below ground services adjacent to Dunningstown Road (West) ongoing
• Dunningstown Road Works (West) including kerbing and footpaths have progressed
Section 7D (including Talbots Gate/Court and Freshford Road Junction)
• Site Entrance for Construction Traffic to CBS School Site
• Kerbing and footpaths within Talbots Green have progressed.
• Tarmac Basecourse within Talbots Green have commenced
• Relocation of Trees within Talbots completed
All the necessary Health and Safety systems and traffic management will be put in place to always ensure your safety during these works.
CONSTRUCTION WORK HOURS & PARKING
Monday to Friday – as per planning.
Saturday – as per planning.
Provision for parking has been made within our compound (Lands off Dunningstown Road South adjacent to the new
school) for our construction workers and for all construction related traffic.
HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT
As the Main Contractor the health and safety of our workers and the public is a top priority for JJ Rhatigan/ABM.
It is important that children/teenagers understand that construction sites are not a safe place to play, and they
should not try to enter construction sites at any time and/or MUST NOT ENTER SITE AT ANY TIME. We would appreciate parents’ assistance in getting this point across to young children.
Construction sites are defined as high-risk work areas with those who work on site having specialised training and
equipment to undertake their tasks.

care regarding the appearance of our site, respect the community in which we work, protect the environment by our methods of working and choice of design and materials, secure everyone’s safety and value our workforce. We strive to maintain the highest standards on all our projects.
UPCOMING WORKS
Section 7B and 7C
• Dunningstown Road (West and East) 2 way traffic opening to the General Public in 4-5 weeks time, approx.. 11th October 2024. This road will tie into existing Dunningstown Road.
• Temporary traffic management at proposed Dunningstown Junction.
Section 7D (including Talbots Gate/Court and Freshford Road Junction)
• Complete Road section in Talbots Green.
• Allow traffic from Talbots Court to enter Dunningstown Road to allow Road works commence on Main access Road in Talbots. This will commence 11th October.
• Work on the link road to the Freshford road and Freshford Road Roundabout is expected to be completed by February of 2025.

patience and consideration. Please be advised that it is our policy to ensure that all efforts be made to ensure minimal disruption to the neighbourhood for the duration of the construction period.
