UPDATE – May 2025
As we entered April, a big milestone has been met with our first handover being achieved. Partial handover for X3 and the temporary accommodation units, was the first objective in a series to achieve completion for the first phase of construction for the St Finians project.
With the temporary accommodation units being handed over, the students have now moved into the premises which allows for works to begin in phase 2. As April progresses, we set sights on new objectives for our next phase of construction.
Buildings X5 and X6 are within the final stretch to complete handover with final paint and commissioning achieved. Externally, civil works are in full swing with the roads and pavements.
The Church and Sports hall are to be included in the next phase of handover with X6 and X5. Being an existing build, precise finishing touches are currently being implemented to ensure authenticity is adhered to whilst streamlining the newly constructed areas within the two buildings accordingly.
As the next phase of handover converges closer and closer, landscaping has progressed effectively to provide the finish touches. Landscaping has been completed around X3 and temporary accommodation, which is now tying into our next phase landscaping to X6, X4 and X5. Simultaneously, civil works trails behind within sequence on the other side and closest to X1.
As we prepare to handover the current phase, the construction process for phase 2 has already kicked off with demolition works staring in the now vacant areas of our main existing building X1.

HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT
As the Main Contractor the health and safety of our workers and the public is a top priority for JJ Rhatigan/ABM. We have drafted a traffic management plan that will be implemented for the duration of the construction works to minimise the impact on the public and local residents. The site will be fully secured for the duration of the works and the vast majority of the works will be carried out within the confines of this area. It is important that children understand that construction sites are not a safe place to play, and they should not try to enter construction sites at any time. We would appreciate parents’ assistance in getting this point across to young children.
Construction sites are defined as high-risk work areas with those who work on site having specialised training and equipment to undertake their tasks. Once established on site JJ Rhatigan/ABM will be completing school visits / community initiatives to outline this.
JJ Rhatigan & Company is proud to support and cooperate with the Considerate Constructors Scheme to commit to care regarding the appearance of our site, respect the community in which we work, protect the environment by our methods of working and choice of design and materials, secure everyone’s safety and value our workforce. We strive to maintain the highest standards on all our projects.
UPCOMING WORKS
JJ Rhatigan/ABM will be providing regular Neighbourhood Update to give our neighbours information on the works to be carried out.

Please be advised that it is our policy to ensure that all efforts be made to ensure minimal disruption to the neighbourhood for the duration of the construction period.
