Welcome to our September 2025 issue of our Neighbourhood Update for CBS Secondary School, Kilkenny. Please take a moment to read this notice about the upcoming works in your locality.
Works since last neighbourhood update
Works include:
Section 7A (School and associated site works)
- Achieved Substantial Completion and handed over to CBC
Section 7B (including East Dunningstown)
- Achieved Substantial Completion
- All Road Users to obey the rules of the new Road including Road Signage and Traffic Signals
Section 7C (including West Dunningstown)
- Handed over to KCC
- All Road Users to obey the rules of the new traffic Lights including Road Signage and Traffic Signals
Section 7D (including Talbots Gate/Court and Freshford Road Junction)
- Road Open to the General Public
- All Road Users to obey the rules of the new Road including Road Signage and Belisha Signals
All the necessary Health and Safety systems and traffic management will be put in place to always ensure your safety during these works.
Construction Work Hours & Parking
Monday to Friday – as per planning.
Saturday – as per planning.
Provision for parking has been made within our compound (Lands off Dunningstown Road South adjacent to the new school) for our construction workers and for all construction related traffic.
Health, Safety & Environment
As the Main Contractor the health and safety of our workers and the public is a top priority for JJ Rhatigan/ABM.
It is important that children/teenagers understand that construction sites are not a safe place to play, and they should not try to enter construction sites at any time and/or must not enter site at any time. We would appreciate parents’ assistance in getting this point across to young children.
Construction sites are defined as high-risk work areas with those who work on site having specialised training and equipment to undertake their tasks.

All Road Users to obey the rules of the Roads including Dunningstown, Talbots and Freshford. All traffic Lights and Belisha Beacons are in full operation and all Rules associated with same to be obeyed including Road Signage.
