Welcome to our August 2024 issue of our Neighbourhood Update for CBS Secondary School, Kilkenny. Please take a moment to read this notice about the upcoming works in your locality.
Works since last neighbourhood update
Works include:
Section 7A (School and associated site works)
•Zone B + D Remaining Precast Superstructure Ongoing
•Boundary Gabion Basket Construction Ongoing
•External Windows/Doors and Curtain Walling Ongoing
•Internal M+E 1st and 2nd fix ongoing.
•Outer Leaf Blockwork ongoing
•Roof Finishes ongoing
Kerbing and Footpaths Ongoin
Section 7B (including East Dunningstown)
•CBS Access Road Tarmac Basecourse has commenced.
•Kerbing and Footpaths Ongoing
•Traffic Management for Section 2 Dunningstown Road Works (East) has now commenced
•Installation of below ground services adjacent to Dunningstown Road (East) ongoing
Section 7C (including West Dunningstown)
•Traffic Management for Section 2 Dunningstown Road Works (West) has now commenced.
•Installation of below ground services adjacent to Dunningstown Road (West) ongoing
Section 7D (including Talbots Gate/Court and Freshford Road Junction)
•Site Entrance for Construction Traffic to CBS School Site
•Commenced Kerbing within Talbots Green.
All the necessary Health and Safety systems and traffic management will be put in place to always ensure your safety during these works.
CONSTRUCTION WORK HOURS & PARKING
Monday to Friday – as per planning.
Saturday – as per planning.
Provision for parking has been made within our compound (Lands off Dunningstown Road South adjacent to the new
school) for our construction workers and for all construction related traffic.
HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT
As the Main Contractor the health and safety of our workers
and the public is a top priority for JJ Rhatigan/ABM.
It is important that children/teenagers understand that construction sites are not a safe place to play, and they
should not try to enter construction sites at any time and/or
MUST NOT ENTER SITE AT ANY TIME. We would
appreciate parents’ assistance in getting this point across to young children.
Construction sites are defined as high-risk work areas with those who work on site having specialised training and
equipment to undertake their tasks.

UPCOMING WORKS
Section 7D (including Talbots Gate/Court and Freshford Road Junction)
Removing Trees in Talbots Gate/Court.
-Traffic Management Setup will commence Monday 12-08-24.
-Pruning/Trimming will commence Monday 12-08-24.
Following above commence Road enabling works in Talbots including Traffic Management.
