UPDATE – August 2024

As we approach the end of the School Holidays period, it has been hectic on site to complete the summer works ahead of the school reopening on 19th August.

At present we are on target to have everything ready for the new school, year. Particular important is to have both the Carpark and Ball courts ready for the new school year.

During that period, we also carried out substantial opening up works in the main building to plan the phase 2 works next spring. This is now completed and handed back to the school.

Progress to the other buildings during this period included.

North Block The complicated steel roof is now covered in the roof membrane, and we have commenced the internal fitout.

East Block & Gym

The steel roof frame has been installed to the X6 building in preparation for the roof membrane, with the Gym roof to follow on.

Sports Hall

Roof strengthening works has commenced internally, as we prepare for the new external roof structure install later in the month.

Church Works

We have completed another milestone on this project with the handover of the new church Roof. We have now commenced the delicate works of forming new lime plaster moulds around the internal stained-glass windows in keeping with the conservation requirements.

Ball Courts & Carpark

The Ball Courts are now completed, ready for the new school term.

Works are continuing on the Carpark to be ready for handover for the new school term.

All the necessary Health and Safety systems and traffic management have been put in place to ensure your safety at all times during these works and opening of the school later this month.

CONSTRUCTION WORK HOURS & PARKING

Monday to Friday – as per planning.
Saturday – as per planning.

Provision for parking has been made within our compound for our construction workers and for all construction related traffic. The site access will be from the old Longford Road

HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT

As the Main Contractor the health and safety of our workers and the public is a top priority for JJ Rhatigan/ABM. We have drafted a traffic management plan that will be implemented for the duration of the construction works to minimise the impact on the public and local residents. The site will be fully secured for the duration of the works and the vast majority of the works will be carried out within the confines of this area. It is important that children understand that construction sites are not a safe place to play, and they should not try to enter construction sites at any time. We would appreciate parents’ assistance in getting this point across to young children.

Construction sites are defined as high-risk work areas with those who work on site having specialised training and equipment to undertake their tasks. Once established on site JJ Rhatigan/ABM will be completing school visits / community initiatives to outline this.

UPCOMING WORKS

JJ Rhatigan/ABM will be providing regular Neighbourhood Update to give our neighbours information on the works to be carried out.

We now have a website set up to provide these updates.

www.rhatiganabm.com

All future updates will be provided via the website.

We apologies in advance for any inconvenience the construction activities may cause and also to thank you for your patience and consideration. Please be advised that it is our policy to ensure that all efforts be made to ensure minimal disruption to the neighbourhood for the duration of the construction period.
