Dear Neighbour,
Welcome to the latest issue of our Neighbourhood Update for St. Mark’s Special School, Newbridge. JJ Rhatigan/ABM Joint venture have been appointed to deliver Project Nore which is a bundle of 7 schools located between Kilkenny, Tipperary, Kildare and Mullingar.
ABM have been appointed for the construction of the new St. Mark’s Special School, and for the demolition of the existing school building once the school have decanted into the new building.
This will then allow for the installation of the external play areas & soft landscaping in the final phase of the works.
UPDATE- March 2025
Since our last newsletter the construction of the new school has progressed as planned, all roof finishes are complete and external finishes to the building are advancing.
Over the month of March, we aim to complete our external facade finishes, progress internally with our mechanical and electrical installation and our joinery and fitted furniture installation along with completing external landscaping to the building while closing works to the car park at the traffic lights on station road.
Service providers will also complete connection’s to the new school including Telecoms and water connections.
CONSTRUCTION WORK HOURS & PARKING
Site working hours shall be:
- Monday to Friday- as per planning
- Saturday- as per planning
Special thanks to Sarsfields GAA for assisting with parking during the day for workers. Vehicle and pedestrian access to site shall be off Station Road.
HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT
Health and Safety of our workers and the public is a top priority for JJ Rhatigan/ABM. We have drafted a traffic management plan that will be implemented for the duration of the construction works to minimise the impact on the public, and local residents. The site will be fully secured for the duration of the works and the vast majority of the works will be carried out within the confines of this area.
It is important that children understand that construction sites are not a safe place to play, and they should not try to enter construction sites at any time. We would appreciate parents’ assistance in getting this point across to young children.
Construction sites are defined as high-risk work areas with those who work on site having specialised training and equipment to undertake their tasks. Once established on site JJ Rhatigan/ABM will be completing school visits / community initiatives to outline this.
UPCOMING WORKS
JJ Rhatigan/ABM will be providing regular Neighbourhood Update to give our neighbours information on the works to be carried out.
We now have a website set up to provide these updates www.rhatiganabm.com
This and all future updates will be provided via the website.
We apologise in advance for any inconvenience the construction activities may cause, and also thank you for your patience and consideration.
Please be advised that it is our policy to ensure that all efforts are made to ensure minimal disruption to the neighbourhood for the duration of the construction period.
