Welcome to the July 2025 issue of our Neighbourhood Update for Presentation Secondary School, Kilkenny. JJ Rhatigan/ABM have been appointed as the Main Contractor for the construction of the Presentation Secondary School, a new build two storey school with associated play areas, landscaped car parks, boundary screening, ballcourts and bike parking. Please take a moment to read this notice about the upcoming works in your locality.
Works Ongoing
We are happy to share that good progress has been made this month, and the following works are currently ongoing on site ahead of the handover of the first phase next month:
- Snagging of the building internally
- Testing & Commissioning Ongoing
- Façade works & Snagging ongoing
- External hard and soft landscaping progressed
Construction Work Hours & Parking
Monday to Friday – as per planning.
Saturday – as per planning.
The site accessed will be from Outrath Court currently.

Health, Safety & Environment
As the Main Contractor the health and safety of our workers and the public is a top priority for JJ Rhatigan/ABM. We have drafted a traffic management plan that will be implemented for the duration of the construction works to minimise the impact on the public and residents.
The site will be fully secured for the duration of the works, and most of the works will be carried out within the confines of this area.
It is important that children understand that construction sites are not a safe place to play, and they should not try to enter construction sites at any time. We would appreciate parents’ assistance in getting this point across to young children.
Construction sites are defined as high-risk work areas with those who work on site having specialised training and equipment to undertake their tasks. Once established on site JJ Rhatigan/ABM will be completing school visits / community initiatives to outline this.

- Demolition works due to commence on the existing school on the 11th of August currently
